THE ENLOE EAGLE'S EYE
Â
What's the Eagle's Eye?
The Eagle's Eye is the official school newspaper of Enloe GT Magnet High School. Pretty esteemed news outlet, mind you. Jokes aside, it's an essential part of the student experience, and it helped make news and student work and writing more accessible to the entire student body!Â
In my year there, I oversaw everything visual. I managed the social media, reviewing and tweaking every design to look good and fit the brand before it went online.Â
I also took the newspaper in a new direction with its social media presence - bolstering its following and adapting all of the content to a new format that suited both the newly-remote environment that we'd entered.

Among Us...
Everyone's favorite game in the ye-olde times of COVID. Everyone wasn't in the loop, though! This was one of the first graphics of the new style that we put out on the page.Â
Instead of a plain blurb in the caption telling you to go to the website (and file through until you happen to find the article), I figured - why not just put the whole thing on Instagram? Students aren't exactly known for their attention spans. So this was the beginning a new format that I led the newspaper to follow - articles contained on Instagram. Â
This one also had overlapping elements across the slides, so it would look like one panorama when you swiped through. Little crewmates (the game characters) as they go through a simplified version of the game, from start to finish!Â
Starting off the new year!
After being given the chance to lead the Instagram (alongside a very kind co-admin, who was more on the editorial side rather than graphic), I wanted to make a post that established a new presence for the newspaper! Something very modern and web-focused, shifting more focus to our new social media approach and the podcast I was starting! This is another carousel post, where you would swipe through and the slides would seamlessly blend into one another. (Hence, the very strange margins on the first and last slide)
Carousel Pieces
These were some especially successful articles thanks to the new way they were being shared. Alongside these graphics that I designed myself, the new means of design was also being adopted by the rest of the staff to help their work go further! I standardized the process by making it accessible and easy through software like Canva.
More to come!
